Free Software Tools for Technical Report Writing in LaTeX

Technical report writing is an integrated part of life for most Engineers. When it comes to the use of Free Software for technical writing, nothing is better than using good old LaTeX, a free document preparation system. This brings us the challenge of learning and using a markup language to write LaTeX documents so that they could be parsed and compiled with the LaTeX compilers which come free with most of the Linux Disributions.

For the last couple of years I am using Kile, an integrated LaTeX environment for the KDE desktop environment. In a single word, it is `great`! Now, using kile you could compile, convert and view your document with one click. The citing feature using the integration of pybliographer comes very handy here. You will understand what I mean if you install Kile and Pybliographer in your Linux Desktop :) ! Ask me if you don’t know how you do this :)
